Participate to the World Teachers' Day 2016

UNESCO will be hosting the World Teachers' Day celebrated annually on 5 October, which will mark this year the 50th anniversary of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendation concerning the Status of Teachers. This year, the theme chosen by UNESCO and its partners for World Teachers' Day 2016 is: "Valuing Teachers, Improving their Status".

For this double commemoration, UNESCO will organize several activities at its Headquarters in Paris. An exhibition on countries' achievements on the improvement of the status of teachers over the past fifty years will take place at UNESCO Headquarters from 3 to 6 October. On 5 October there will be the official commemoration of World Teachers' Day with several thematic panel discussions and the 2015-2016 edition of the UNESCO-Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize for Outstanding Practice and Performance in Enhancing the Effectiveness of Teachers.
